“Reach Out” – an organisation which aims to advise victims and educate against right-extremism, racism and antisemitism. Since 2005 ReachOut maps the sites of crimes of racist, antisemic or homophob violence. This work is extremely important in terms of documentation, and furthermore a very useful base to analyze the discriminatory aspect of the production of space. Even though these inicidents do not document daily forms of racism and antisemitism in forms of words, jokes, questions etc. But it visualizes on different scales in the City of Berlin how often – every incident is one too much – and where these incidents happens. It seems that you could see more incidents in East Berlin, but on the other hand a careful view shows, that there are many sites in public space which are not safe, as they are places with lots of passerby, like Alexanderplatz or Kantstraße.
